Now Available for the
2008 Iowa Shrine Bowl Football Game
AMES, IA,
July 26, 2008 – Ames will host the 36th.
annual Iowa Shrine Bowl football game on Saturday, July
26, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Jack Trice Stadium. The game will
showcase 92 talented high school football players and 60
cheer squad members from around the state. Tickets are $10
each and are available by contacting the Iowa Shrine Bowl
office at P.O. Box 22160 Des Moines, Iowa
50325 or emailing xautoman@mchsi.com.
Children under 6 are free.
Also, on
Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., the annual Shrine Bowl
parade will be held in the Main Street Cultural District.
After the parade, the first 100 kids will receive a
program for autographs with the 2008 Shrine Bowl football
players during the autograph session at Tom Evans Plaza.
Proceeds
from the Iowa Shrine Bowl support the Shriners Hospitals
for Children programs. The Shriners hospitals provide
medical care for children suffering from orthopedic
conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate.
To date, approximately $2 million
dollars have been raised for the Shriners Hospitals,
through the Iowa Shrine Bowl events.
